Centre for Health Services Studies seminar programme for 2009/10 added

Details of research seminars being run by the Centre for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent have just been added to our website. These seminars will cover a range of topics including social exclusion, web-based assessment of support plans, and health risk promotion. They will be of interest to NHS and social care staff, researchers, and other interested parties.

NIHR in the South East Region: Committed to better research in the NHS

New workshop dates for 2009 and 2010 added

We have recently added several new workshop dates to our calendar, in all three of our counties (Kent, Surrey and Sussex).

Our Research for Patient Benefit workshops are an excellent opportunity to find out more about the RfPB funding stream, what types of research it covers and how you can apply.

We are also now offering workshops on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI), a new addition to our range of courses. Sign up for a workshop to find out what PPI is and how it can improve your research.

New workshop: Involving Older People in Service Review and Research

This workshop will take place on 17 July 2009 and is run by Making Research Count Brighton. Its aims are to introduce participants to different ways of working with older people to contribute to service review and development and to undertake research, and to consider how these ways of working might be implemented within social care agencies.

Third Annual Research Day, Surrey, Sussex & Kent Regional Paediatric and Neonatal Research Network

This research day will take place on 16 September 2009 and has been organised by the Surrey, Sussex & Kent Regional Paediatric and Neonatal Research Network. The programme includes talks on CPAP for preterm babies, treatment with cooling for perinatal asphyxia, and childhood obesity.

New workshop: Getting to grips with online research information

It is a hands-on session, aimed at identifying and exploring online resources for practitioners wanting to develop their knowledge and understanding of research relevant to their practice. The workshop will look at improving online searching skills and helping attendees find more relevant online material more effectively.
