Dr Julie Hedayioglu
Julie joined the Kent RDS SE team in October 2017, as an RDS adviser with a focus on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI). She is part of the core team that manages our RDS SE PPI grant scheme to support researchers to involve the public in their research from an early stage. Julie is a BPS Chartered Psychologist and Health Psychologist (HCPC Registered), with a background in the adaptation and management of chronic conditions, treatment choices, and health interventions. She has a part-time role as a Health Psychologist for Kent Community NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT): http://www.kentcht.nhs.uk/ helping to develop a research culture and supporting clinicians to develop their research ideas.
As an experienced health researcher, she has used both qualitative and quantitative approaches across a number of topic areas, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, stroke (University of Kent) and mental health nursing (City University). She has significant experience of working with, and for, the NHS. This includes a previous role as a Clinical Trials Officer in stroke (EKHUFT), a Research and Innovation Officer for KentHealth (University of Kent), and Research Associate looking at medicines adherence in stroke (Medway School of Pharmacy).
