Dr Sarah Hotham (Research adviser)
Dr Sarah Hotham is a Chartered Psychologist and Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS).
Sarah’s expertise lies in health psychology and behavioural medicine in Public Health, with a focus on weight management and physical activity. She provides advice on research methods, evaluation and study design, questionnaire development and multivariate data analysis. She also has expertise in health-related behaviour change interventions.
Sarah has received grants from NHS Trusts and Local Authority public health departments to develop and evaluate approaches to weight management and physical inactivity. She is also currently leading the ‘Ageless Thanet’ evaluation – a five year Big Lottery-funded programme to reduce social isolation and loneliness. Sarah has published widely including articles in eating behaviour journals, psychology journals and applied healthcare care publications.
Sarah is a member of the British Psychological Society, the Health Psychology in Public Health and the UK Society for Behavioural Medicine. She is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
