Dr Jeewaka Mendis (Research adviser)
Dr Jeewaka Mendis is a Senior Medical Statistician at the University of Surrey where he serves as the lead statistician across the Surrey Clinical Trials Unit, Surrey Clinical Research Centre and also to the NIHR Research Design Service South East.
He earned his PhD in Medical Statistics from university of Leicester in that by developing a novel methodologies to design new clinical trials using evidence synthesis methods. He is highly experienced in applying statistical methods across various disciplines including agriculture, finance, health and medicine.
He has a wealth of experience in applying statistical methods from designing, conducting, monitoring through to the analysis of clinical trials of all phases and an array of therapeutic areas. He also supports researchers in developing grant applications to various funding streams.
He runs statistics workshops to PhD/MD students across all faculties of the university and also the course leader in Surrey winter/summer statistics schools.
Jeewaka has co-authored many publications.
