Funding

There are a variety of sources of funding available for health and social care research, and we can help you to decide which funder might be most appropriate for your research.

Whilst we primarily assist with the different NIHR funding streams below, we can also help with funding applications to research councils, charities and other national peer reviewed funding programmes.

For further information about the different NIHR funding streams, please visit their website: https://www.nihr.ac.uk/funding-and-support/funding-for-research-studies/how-to-apply-for-funding/identify-the-right-programme.htm

To stay up to date with the latest NIHR funding opportunities, please visit this page: http://www.rds-sw.nihr.ac.uk/documents/Funding_Table.pdf

And for local information days about the different funding streams available, please sign up to our e-bulletin or look out for information on the RDS SE calendar.

Sources of funding for applied health research include NIHR programmes, Research Councils and major charities. The RDS works with researchers developing grant applications for submission to NIHR and other suitable funding streams.
